Five More Weeks

Happy Monday Morning!

It was tough waking up at 5:30 am this morning. I have been relaxing, lounging, sleeping in since Friday!

It was definitely a coffee kind of morning

I hit “snooze” a few too many times, and ended up grabbing a CLIF bar on the way out the door. By the way, I love all flavors.

By the time I got back from my first class (my second was cancelled, thank goodness!)… I was starving!

I made a green smoothie to hold me over until lunch.

It was the most basic of green smoothies ever:

  • Ice
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 banana
  • 1 TBL flax
  • 3 cups of spinach

With a little honey to sweeten up my Monday!

The next five weeks at a glance…

Even though I am obsessed with my g-calendar (Google Calendar) and have been faithfully relying on it for about three years now, I do LOVE to get things written out on this board:

I like crossing off the days, and having a general overview of when things are happening.

Some exciting things coming up in the next month or so:

  • November 18: I can run again!!
  • Nov 19-23: Going to visit BFF Debbie in New Jersey
  • Thanksgiving with my family in Tampa
  • Possible Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot
  • OUC Half Marathon (my third year running, sad Deb won’t be there, but still)
  • FINALS
  • Senior Design project due! (Ummm… need to get started, STAT)

It’s time for me to buckle down and get some things done. I need to figure out a way to stay sane through all of this craziness!

Do you prefer to keep track of your days using an electronic calendar, like G-Calendar, or do you prefer to hand write it?

  1. I love how “I Can Run Again” is written HUGE across November 18. :)

  2. (back when i had a desk) i used to have one of those huge calendars that was also a desk pad. is it weird that i now miss that? such a nerd. now i use my bberry, which explains a LOT about my organization, or lack thereof…

youre so close to running again!!

  3. I do use Google calendar but I also make lots of lists at home because there is something about writing it out by hand that helps me stay focused ;-)

    Have a great day!

  4. hey, everybody has to have their own favorite way of keeping up with what’s due. i do it mentally and then forget half of everything. oh well.

  5. Hey darling! Sounds like you have some wonderful things ahead this month. How exciting that you get to run again soon and what a great trip to visit your BF! That’s awesome!

  6. Hand written, I’m old fashioned.

  7. I am a handwritten kind of calendar girl! Love crossing stuff off!

  8. I do both! I have a handwritten calendar in my moleskin that I draw up every month and I’m more than a little obsessed with iCal…

  9. I like my hand-written calendar for day-to-day things. Taking the time to write it all out and cross things off helps me to be more aware of my schedule. I also keep a board behind my computer w/ major events/deadlines and goals.

  10. i use a combination of both, i write out things on my daily planner, and i use my ical on my computer! usually the writing out in the planner is for school assignments and the ical is for work and special events.

  11. I usually hand write my to do lists although i then lose them sometime. I should try out google calendar sometime soon!

  12. I definitely prefer hand writing it. I have a daily planner and I use it so I don’t forget appointments or other important dates. :)

  13. I think crossing off the days on a real calendar is the best feeling! But I love gcalendar, too!

  14. Prefer to take it one day at a time and not look ahead. Gets me in trouble but keeps me out of stress!

  15. That’s so weird my first comment didn’t go through!

Anyway, I’ll be in Tampa for Thanksgiving too and my brother and I are doing the St Pete 10k Turkey Trot! That’s the one you’re thinking of doing, right? Now you have to sign up :)

Yayyyyyy racing! I tried to get Meghann and Caitlin on board but alas they couldn’t join!

    • Hmmm… that is weird!

I have just been holding off on paying the fee until i know that I can run again! Hehe… stupid toes of course.

      • Maybe because I included a link to the race and it thought I was spam??

Anyway, I’m sure your toe will be all good by then :) Can’t wait!!

  16. I love writing things out, but I’ve heard some great things about Google Calendar, so I might start using it. Though, I definitely agree that there’s something nice about being able to manually cross something off.

  17. I love google calenders. Angela got me into them. They are great. I do agree though, pen and paper is nothing that you can’t pass up. maybe it’s a write/re-write thing..i’ll have a planner and a google calender by me and that seems to sort me out pretty well. Hope that you’re ENJOYING your non-running period :) Good luck with all of your studying.

  18. I hand write some things, but I use my GCal a lot!

  19. I prefer to write things – but it’s hard to sync up with my husband that way! So we rely on Google calendar to make sure we don’t double book!

Sounds like a lot of fun trips coming up!

  20. I also like Google Calander, but I need to write things down. I would not be able to function without my planner! I also use the monthly calander section of my planner to track my workouts. It helps when I am training for a race, and to give me an overview of how my workouts have been going for the past few weeks!

  21. Your green smoothie looks so good!! I’ve always been a little reluctant to drink anything green but I am so having that for breakfast tomorrow. Thanks for the great idea!

PS. Good to hear that you’re up on your feet again!

  22. I have a little notepad I keep in my purse. Everytime I go to school, my teacher somehow reminds us of things that are due, so I scribble it all down…it can be a bit confusing when I go back to look at it! I’ve tried the dry-eraser calendar and only kept up with it for one week. Yay for coffee!

  23. My husband and I use Lotus Notes and Google Calendar to sync up, but I LOVE writing appointments on our dry erase board (that is hanging on the kitchen door)!

  24. I usually use my giant dry erase board to plan stuff out but when it comes to homework, i have a table set up in a word document that I post everything on. it’s so easy to edit stuff that it works really well for me.

  25. I like my hand written calendar(s). I stay sane by crossing things off when I’m done with them — it is surprisingly effective and makes me feel much calmer!

  26. i like to hand write out my schedules!
you got a lot to look forward to this month!

  27. I have a similar plan of my next few weeks…we’re so close!
I use both Google calendar and a Franklin Covey paper planner.
